Title: Vice President Engineering
Salary: $180,000 - $210,000 DOE
Location: Dallas, Texas (will include frequent travel to other sites)

Oliver Carol Recruitment is seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Engineering who will lead our multi-site CPG manufacturing clients' engineering department.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fusion 3D and CAD, PLCs, people leadership, lean manufacturing methodology (including Kaizen and LSS), and extensive experience in handling CAPEX projects, including full-line design for factories.

Responsibilities:

Engineering Department Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of project managers and engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize team productivity, resource allocation, and talent development.
  • Foster innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering department.

Fusion 3D and CAD Expertise:

  • Utilize expertise in fusion 3D and CAD software to drive product design, development, and improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into actionable engineering plans.
  • Ensure engineering designs meet quality, cost, and timeline objectives.

PLC Integration and Automation:

  • Oversee the integration of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) into manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with automation engineers to optimize production efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations related to automated equipment.

Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive the implementation of lean manufacturing methodologies, including Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma (LSS).
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and cost savings.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in executing improvement projects to enhance operational excellence.

CAPEX Project Management:

  • Manage and execute CAPEX projects related to factory expansion, new line installations, and equipment upgrades.
  • Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of new equipment and technologies.

Full Line Design for Factories:

  • Utilize expertise in factory layout and design to optimize production flow and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create scalable and flexible manufacturing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements during factory design and construction.

Person Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in engineering leadership roles in the CPG industry.
  • Proficiency in fusion 3D and CAD software for product design and development.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs (particularly AB or Seimens), industrial automation & robotics, and integration into manufacturing processes.
  • Proven experience in people leadership, including managing project managers and engineers.
  • In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies, including Kaizen and LSS.
  • Track record of successfully managing CAPEX projects, including full-line design for factories.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
